Clean Water for Rural Schools
About this campaign
Eleven primary schools in the district share four working water points between them. Children queue through break, carry what they can back to class, and go without for the rest of the day. Four in ten pupils miss at least one day a week to water-borne illness.
The district education office has already surveyed every site and approved the drilling locations. Each school has formed a water committee, and two have raised part of the maintenance fund themselves.
Your donation puts a borehole and hand pump inside the school grounds at each site, with latrines and handwashing stations alongside — drilled by a local contractor, tested before handover, and maintained by a caretaker the school trains and pays. Work begins at the first three schools the week the goal is reached.
