About this campaign

The district clinic screened 1,100 children under five last quarter and found severe acute malnutrition in just under a fifth of them. Treatment works — it is twelve weeks of therapeutic food and weekly weigh-ins. Treated early, more than nine in ten children recover fully.

The clinic staff, the weighing equipment and the referral system are all in place. Community health workers already do the screening rounds. What runs out, repeatedly, is the therapeutic food itself.

Your donation funds a full twelve-week course for 240 children, with the weekly follow-up that makes the difference between recovery and relapse. It also trains caregivers to cook balanced meals from what they can actually buy at the local market, so the recovery holds after the programme ends.
