School Supplies for Underprivileged Kids
About this campaign
A full set of books, notebooks and pens costs about a week of household income here. Teachers report the same pattern every September: children arrive, share one book between four, and stop coming by November. Around a third of enrolled pupils drop out before the second term.
The schools have done what they can — staggered timetables, shared textbooks, a lending scheme run by parents. Every head teacher we spoke to named supplies as the single biggest reason a child stops attending.
Your donation puts a complete kit in the hands of 400 children: books matched to their year, notebooks, stationery, and a bag to carry them in. Kits are bought from local suppliers and handed out in the first week of term, with a second top-up before exams.
